Fair point. In my baby organizing years I thought things couldn't get worse than Rick Perry and hoo boy was I naive!

I have a half-baked theory that Dems do govern better but only in places where they really have to be competitive. Once the party captures a state the lobbyists capture the party and all the people who would have been Republicans run as Democrats, so the differences evaporate.
