I don't expect this, but it would be fascinating if the chief casualty of the sustained media campaign to ignore Trump's own age issues, his openly stated authoritarianism etc. in favor of wall-to-wall Biden/old was not POTUS but elite political media itself. Not likely, but a boy can dream...

At this point, the only money the NYT gets from me is so my father can do the crossword, and even that is a stretch now. I get as much as my US politics news from foreign or nontraditional sources as I can.

We need to create persuasive alternate cooking, wordling, and crossword options to force the Gray Lady to the reckoning table.

Quordle and octordle are both more fun than wordle.

I'm allergic to all those word games, so I'll take your word for it. Maybe the time has come for an advertising push to NYT subscribers who are just in it for the World. Surely there's an AI [ducks] way to target that pop.

It’s somewhat bizarre, as this is largely a thing the internet is still good at

I gave up NYT long ago when they refused to call torture by name. It’s not that hard. Too many rely on the paper as the definitive source of record for news and continue to push links into timelines. I’d advocate that folks stop doing that, even to criticize. Screencap when needed, but no links.

It's personally fascinating to me that the polls yesterday all showed gains for Biden.

This is not so unreasonable. Credibility is fuel. It is burned to produce results, and from the results more credibility is made. If it's burned all at once to support arrant nonsense, that delegitimizes the nonsense-purveyor. Credibility has limits.
