Most we sites nowadays seem to break and force-reload my phone’s browser. The surveillance tech embedded also somehow breaks reader view many times as well. Advertising is turning the internet unusable, it’s really shocking that I had an easier time reading websites on a Palm Treo 18 years ago.

It’s wild… The game is to induce you to tap on the ad, so now they’re going after scrolling on touchscreens. It’s becoming an extreme sport to consume content online.

Between unclosable video pop ups, surprise newsletter pop ups, crashed pages, non-consensual meta pixel tracking, and banners, most websites are functionally unusable on mobile

So many times I try to do something online, realize I made the mistake of trying to use my phone; and have it all instantly work on my desktop. It's all become a big drag...

I find that setting my phone's DNS server to one of the AdGuard ones (so most ad domains just fail to resolve) makes the mobile experience significantly better.

I’ve tried that but then whole sites won’t load if they can’t load their ads. Again, the issue isn’t some maneuvering on our end that’s the issue, it’s user hostility in the design and operation of these places.

On X it's now impossible to not accidentally click on an ad every minute or so. That and the fact that X nested itself in the dynamic island of my phone made me finally remove the app.
