I like Bowman and Latimer seems like a tool but it's one House district and it really seems like people are going to massively overread any possible result
As an outsider, it looks like Bowman's being primaried by someone who's a local politician known and liked in the district and who has been hammering him on his voting record in Congress which, like most of the Squad, has been Not Great. And Bowman's response has just been to blame (((evil money))).
I think attributing "(((evil money)))" to Bowman is pretty fucking offensive when it is objectively true that AIPAC has spent record amounts against him
sure but you gotta do more than that to beat the challenge. everybody knows where Bowman stands on Gaza, it's in his radio ads, everybody knows why AIPAC is spending
yeah I'm not saying that the AIPAC money is a magic "he loses" button, there's a reason they're spending against him and triaged Summer Lee
(though I doubt normie voters are aware of AIPAC at all and their ads aren't about Israel)
just against the idea that criticizing AIPAC deserves ((()))
fair enough
I will say, all these stories claiming Bowman is dogged by the fire alarm story make me doubt his campaign staff. If I was running Bowman's campaign I would be running on "he pulled that fucking fire alarm because he's fighting for YOU"
it's a bad story for him because it sounds like super dirty pool but the "good" version of it, which i think it's true, doesn't reflect very well on him either
Bowman specifically has also been deep into the 10/7 rape denialism stuff and some other unsavory things. And the progressive wing in general has issues with this -- like when Nina Turner outraised Shontel Brown 2:1 (ish) and still lost she literally blamed "evil money" (AIPAC had donated to Brown).
