Still going on my feminising voice therapy work. There’s decent progress, but this is for real one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in my transition. Surgeries are easy; they’re just money and time. This is months of hard work, and will continue to be work for a long time to come.

Well, the arguments I’ve seen so far from the New Zealand anti-trans crowd against adding Gender Identity to the Human Rights Act are so bad it’s painful. “A man might get protections as a lesbian!” was particularly hilarious. Lesbian trans women are already protected by the HRA, mate.

Taught my 91yr old mother in law to play Settlers of Catan, so I feel like they could put “ages 10-91” on the box if they wanted to.

And in the three years since, not a single instance has been recorded or reported of a sexual assault due to Self-ID in New Zealand. Another stunning own-goal from the anti-trans crowd - not sure why she’s so proud of this tbh?

I have vivid memories of those times: the marches, the petition against, the bloody Salvation Army. It was not at all easy, but social justice eventually prevailed thanks to the hard work, courage and tenacity of a handful of change-makers. Worth remembering and continuing to celebrate.
