I’ve been thinking recently, about how the problem with social media algorithms elsewhere is that they’re made by capitalists. They’re aimed at Monetization™︎ so they’re all about reaching new people and growing an audience rather than maintaining a community or friend group.

And like I’m talking 100s of people that *weren’t* the people that I was actually trying to reach. I just wanted to inform my own fans that said that they were fans and FB was all FUCK THOSE PEOPLE HERE’S OUR FARMED BULLSHIT INSTEAD Haven’t bothered with that page in years. Waste of fucking time.

I think this is part of their ruse. When I go on Instagram these days, I sometimes see paid ads from small artists and creators, just to get the visibility they would once have had organically. Meta's social media is now pay-to-win.
