Nope, these were, since the book was a reboot of H. Beam Piper's Little Fuzzy. This particular artwork is done by the incomparable @michaelwhelan.bsky.social!

I will say that as a decades-long fan of Piper's "Fuzzy" books, reading "Fuzzy Nation" was damned interesting. You changed enough that I had no idea what was going to happen, but it was still all recognizable.
