Yeah the prosecutors would never oppose a delay for a defense request like this. It stands no chance of affecting the outcome. And of course the judge should impose the most severe possible penalty because clearly strong deterrence is necessary in light of the SCOTUS ruling.

Trump ending up in Rikers during the election would be something. I know, I know, it's a bunch of hopium, but even with yesterdays decision they just awkwardly solidified the Imperial Presidency. For the SC to bail Trump out of state charges they would have to demolish Federal/State separation.

What are they gonna do? Demand Joe Bidens DoJ or even worse military go invade Rikers?
