Used this analogy again today.

People I meet are often confused about the roles in children’s book publishing so I came up with a filmmaking analogy that seems to help. Book Editor = Producer Art Director = Director Book Designer = Film Editor Illustrator = Actor Author = Screenwriter

Archive things, as I'm currently working on a bunch of stuff I can't show yet! Here is SPARK, a very long format pic I did as a fun experiment. It's about an idea taking off and becoming real. Maybe one day I'll redo it as a more sensible format, but I still enjoy this one! (in print shop btw ;-) )

Drawing of Laura Fraser as Door from the TV version of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere. As usual, I eyeballed the blocking and thought it looked ok. But I flipped the art when done and thought it looked off. Eventually decided the unflipped art was fine… I’m sorry, what’s the point of this story? :)

Still drawing from films I like - graphite drawing of Jeremiah Johnson in this case. I have no ideas I want to draw but I still want to draw. Plus, I need to practice. Did this one with barely any construction/under drawing, so I’m quite happy that it’s reasonable accurate.
