I tried to post the clip from Casablanca where they sing La Marseillaise on Facebook and this happened

Um... the film does have Nazis in it, but I don't think they're in that shot...?

If it’s the full clip it starts with the Nazis singing a song, before the bar patrons drown them out with La Marseillaise

Ah, I wonder if it was a Germany thing - very strong laws there against certain Nazi slogans/songs/images. Of course not effective enough to ban the AFD, but that's a topic for a different day.

Not sure what you mean here, you might be more explicit. I just looked over the translations (admittedly, I don't speak French) and the gist of the song is essentially "Eff all Tyrants".

Yeah, I did notice that! But given that the overall thematic is "We Hate Tyrants, Let's Kill Them All, then Make Really Sure They're Totally Dead", I guess I kind of overlooked it. That would be totally Meta - to overlook the overarching message to focus on the details.

Being German, I personally find the entire lyrics a tad too violent. "impure blood" also has a very different resonance for me. One that doesn't have so much to do with liberation from tyrants quite the contrary

I get that, and yes, I respect that the song hits different for you. And yeah, 'impure blood' isn't a great line, total agreement there. Still, the overall gist of the song is "Eff Tyrants", which is.. well, given the French Revolution and all, is an understandable evolution.
