I would give the drug user a break if the patient actively engaged in an ongoing treatment program and was clean for years up to the election.
What’s the point of having recovery programs if we don’t let people recover?
I mean this literally. When all of these things combine in one individual, they are unfit for office.
Prior drug abuse, alone, may not be disqualifying.
