Based on my recent experience I would say that the effect of the election on my mood has been roughly the same as the effect of having a recent colonoscopy which revealed that I do not have the diverticular disease which almost killed my mother when she was only three years older than I am now.
I had my colonoscopy with no sedation because I wanted to be able to remember it. Remember seeing my beautiful clear unperforated pink intestine.
I really didn’t know my mother’s perforation was hanging over me to this extent until the threat was gone.
