ELEMENTARY has dropped on Hulu (was it there before and I hadn’t seen it?) and as I’m busted with COVID, I’m indulging. The pilot’s a masterclass, the show’s an A+ example of procedural writing, balancing the serialization and B plots.
Best modern Sherlock Holmes take by a country mile. It does interesting things with the foundation while walking a narrow line making Holmes prickly without being a prick. Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu absolutely crush their roles.
Also a *vastly* better take on Moriarty than the BBC Sherlock. Elementary's Moriarty is at least as smart as Sherlock and scary as hell. BBC Sherlock's -- criminal, but too disorganized and maybe just too dumb to organize a heist against a kid's lemonade stand.
