the paxlovid yuck mouth is hitting me. at first i thought it was the aftertaste of dumplings i had but no this is definitely not that. this is awful oh my god. i don't even know how to begin to describe this. it's metallic, yet there's more to it. it's overwhelming everywhere my tongue touches.
I'm glad you have plaxlovid but did you also check out the histamine protocol. I'm not sure if mixing it with Paxlovid is safe, but Im just letting you know in case theres a point where you cant get it. Glad ur feeling better synecdochic.dreamwidth.org/805203.html
before i couldn't take a deep breath without coughing but just now i took a breath that was decently deep but felt like the soreness the day after a hard bike ride. hopefully paxlovid keeps me improving. i care about my lungs a lot damn it
right, and while the initial infection—mild, severe, or asymptomatic—might not be life threatening, idk if anyone can consider themselves in “decent health” afterwards, at least not for a long time, esp with multiple reinfections impacting the immune system like so many people are experiencing 😞
yeaaaaaaaaah it definitely took a while to keep back to 100% after my first bout of covid, but also that was after the first round of vaxxing without any boosters, paxlovid, or knowledge of things to take to improvement my health outcomes. i am hopeful this one will be much better. already feels so.
thank you. so far i'm finally relatively okay. that first bout was WEEKS until i felt better, whereas now the crushing headache and exhaustion is already gone. hopefully this holds. any particular advice you think i oughta know that others might've missed?
Basically slowly increase activity and be sure you aren't getting payback at each stage. If you do get payback, decrease your activity again. Wait 24 hrs after a big exertion before judging whether you've responded badly or not.
Post-exertional malaise (PEM) is a disproportionate flare of symptoms after activity. Often, 24 hours after the activity, you'd feel weighted down, find it hard to think clearly, and experience autonomic issues like changes in heart rate, BP, and ability to regulate temperature. The activity--
--is not what would normally incite symptoms of overactivity in a healthy person, and takes awhile to get over.
If you have this for 6+ months, we consider the diagnosis of ME/CFS, but many people have short-lived post-viral symptoms.
Just to insert a small note, the symptoms of PEM do not start right after the activity. A 24-72 hour delay is normal. For instance if I do stuff on Monday, the consequences won't hit me until Thursday (and I'll feel fine until then). Keeping a diary is very helpful.
