I am anti-AI but I feel like the teacher could have said “here is the article on the Greek language on Wikipedia that remains actually correct” and then if the kid was wrong it at least wouldn’t be their fault.

Except Wikipedia is not a valid reference because anyone can change it.

This is a major misconception, because that is the actual reason it’s one of the most accurate information sources. Anytime someone changes something, there are a million other people there to change it back if it’s wrong.

And a full record of every change ever made you can reference plus discussions on those changes and why they were made

It's not a misconception. Fact is not set by "a million other people." It's fact. And yes, other sources can be incorrect, but simply citing the web page from Wikipedia is not acceptable because, as you admit, it can be changed by anyone.
