From the 1880s-1940, tuberculosis was a leading cause of death in the US. Doctors prescribed a “climate cure” to those suffering. There’s something transcendent about constant exposure to the elements, the “heroic cure” of the sunshine to help assist in walling off infection.

It is not that anyone here would be interested at all, he lied, but the #CocteauTwins have just hours ago revamped and updated their YouTube page to finally include all their official videos over the years, in hi-def at that. So. You know. Not that anyone here would be interested as I said.

In Nietzschean theory, formlessness is one of the highest forms of being. And Deleuze, "to become is not to attain a form." Can historians of modern abstract painting expand their thinking on abstraction & stop turning it into a purely materialist practice.

Looking for FT remote work, such as Digital Humanities Consultant, Visual Resources Metadata Specialist, etc. My academic training is in art history. Think facilitating the discovery/use of images for research & education &/or studying humanities questions through computational tools/methods.

Remembering, yet again, that weavers are insane...

Look, even though I have a chapter to write on modern art & spirituality, I just can't get behind art history anymore until they expand their ontological scope. Art history needs more phenomenological thinkers.

Wish I was eating a slice of pie looking into the void, its scale of magnitude & emptiness. Cognitive impairment.

The course I'm co-teaching at Williams next year was approved yesterday & the conference program draft is now available for the talk I'm giving next month:

Since I've seen so many Bergman films, I'm not sure how I'm just getting around to The Touch (1971). Remarkable and in my top 5 of his.

Gosh. Several people that I know of have purchased Triadic Intimacy & the Sound of Secrets in the last week. Thanks to everyone still supporting the book & the press @incastellated.bsky.social nearly a year after its publication.

Tell me what you've read recently on the topic of nonlocal consciousness & entanglement.

Jean Cavaillès's mathematical philosophy informs/validates my thoughts on art history, its methods, & esotericism more than historiography//art historians//art critics: "One cannot, through the mere analysis of notions already in use, discover the new notions already w/in them."

I enjoy geometries and abstractions precisely because they ARE NOT 'things' (materialist), the formal forms working on a continuum that never quite arrive - that is, they roll on.

As a multidisciplinary 'art historian,' a 'rubbish philosopher', arguably anti-formalist, I wonder about the conservative impulse to treat abstraction as a materialist practice, as if it isn't a "minimal measure of form," a representation that "ceaselessly undoes itself." Das Nichts nichtet.
