It may vary from place to place, and it does vary with load (not as much point if the driver can’t hear you), but it’s definitely a widespread custom here in western Canada at least :) 2
I think the most Canadian bus was the one at a Lions game 30 years ago where a bunch of drunk Canadians threw cans of Labatts at our bus. 🍁 2

What busses where I live should be saying cuz they're always 5-30 mins late or 10 minutes early for no reason. 1
I've heard of the "Struggle Bus" but the "Sorry Bus" is a new one to me.
