NFP leaders already said to drop out when they're in third. Mélenchon won't say "vote for Macronists" but did say to vote against R-Haine.

They’re really only going to get 2nd choice votes from LR voters and a few disgruntled Renaissance supporters. I tend to agree they’re going to flame out like they have in the past after getting first

The French voting system is garbage. Two-round system where the second round can have 3 candidates? The two-round system already sucks, that just makes it worse.

Theoretically it can have any number up to eight as the threshold you have to beat to qualify for the second round is 12.5%.
