A seasonal wave of #Covid is sweeping across the U.S., driven by the FLiRT variants, a trio of the latest #SARSCoV2 mutants making the rounds. So no, it's not your imagination. People are getting Covid again www.seattletimes.com/nation-world...
Yep, people are getting COVID againwww.seattletimes.com A seasonal COVID-19 wave appears to be underway with cases growing or likely growing in 39 states.

“People are getting Covid again” I propose, instead, “People are getting Covid, still.” WHO et al may have “declared” the pandemic ended, but the virus never left, despite much of the world behaving as though it did.

WHO declared the public health emergency over. The pandemic is still active.

Thanks for that clarification. It further underscores my point.

We have never stopped wearing our masks in public places. The pandemic isn't over.

It’s going through the city I live in, but of course hardly anybody’s wearing masks, I’m not sure about vaccinations, and they act all surprised when they come down with it. “But COVID is over!” Yeah, nah. Our govts have wished it was over & act like it‘s over. And everybody else followed suit.

Same here where I am, cases are up. Masks have become so vilified it will probably be difficult to get large swaths of the population to have respect them as a key form of barrier defense.
Avatar
that we (societal) vilified them means we can choose normalizing them instead. which must remain/become a priority for everyone who cares about public health, worker safety, child safety, elder care, marginalized communities; +even ppl who only value economic health impacts c19 but not c19 alone

Me too. I never stopped, get vaccinated every 6 months, and I've never had it (fingers crossed).

I almost escaped it until I caught it from my mom earlier this year. The one place (other than home) I never wore a mask. I was stupid. ☹️ Now I wear a mask when I visit her.

Darn, that's a bummer! Hope it was at least a mild case.

It was like a bad cold. Some aspects were nasty. I don’t go into details as it’s kinda gross. 😁

I've heard some people have had gastro symptoms--yes, no need to go into details. No fun for sure.
