The thing Star Wars needs to do is excise The Rule of Two from the Canon. The insistence on Jedi and Sith being extremely rare means they have to be too special and powerful. There can therefore never be a comedic Drunken Master Jedi story.
I know I've got a hobby horse of "Star Wars should take more influence from wuxia stories and Hong Kong action films," but the seriousness and reverence people have for Jedi means they can't have a Jackie Chan-esque Jedi.
