As a child it was cool to think that oil is a kind of dinosaur soup, but this is pure fantasy. “For some strange reason, the idea that oil comes from dinosaurs has stuck with many people" but is a #myth. Oil forms when trillions of tiny algae & plankton in the sea died, & sank to the sea bottom 🧪🎢⚒️

Besides the visa cost a researcher coming to UK must pay "immigration health surcharge", of £1,035 a year. e.g. a 5 years would need to pay for the full period upfront before a visa was issued! 🤯 That's insane! Or the most sneaky way to say: Don't come! #AcademicSky 🧪 #UK

If authors have found mistakes or contradictions then a 'corrigendum' might be issued without the retraction stereotype. Contrary to research misconduct, paper-mill, ethically noncompliant studies, etc need to be seen as shameful so the authors face consequences & avoid reinincidence #AcademicSky 🧪

#OTD 1928, Roald Amundsen disappeared while flying the #Arctic from Tromsø,🇳🇴 in rescue mission after his friend Umberto Nobile & crew. His plane's debris was later found, Amundsen's remains were not. Amundsen conquered the Poles & gave his life for Polar exploration. Nobile was rescued weeks later 🧪
