This goes in reverse too - “lady” and “lord” are, etymologically, gender neutral terms that in an alternate timeline we would use to talk about bakers and the cashiers at bakeries, but in our timeline if you “m’lady” a dude it’s still misgendering him, not asking him to bake you bread.
