GSE members refuse to relocate after SU admin requests relocationdailyorange.com SU's Student Experience Division handed members of the encampment a form asking them to relocate due to graduation events starting Thursday.

1) Rather than asking the encampment to move, move commencement to one of the other many lovely spaces at Syracuse University.

2) Make them part of commencement. Be proud to have activist students standing up for what they believe. Surround the encampment with banners proclaiming "Syracuse University Supports Free Speech." Have the Tully Center co-sponsor a commencement event with them.

3) Enter into good-faith negotiations with them in regard to their list of requests (this can go along with #1 and #2).

I am optimistic about this getting sorted -- so far I think both the students and the administration have been respectful of each other and open to making constructive progress. I really hope that continues.
