spent maybe an hour trying to replace my expired debit card in mogstation so i could buy dawntrail. after double digit “This card is not available” vague errors, I just bought Crysta with paypal and got DT that way. installed, and now launching FFXIV hard locks my entire PC. software!!! 🙃
if anyone knows what it means when you try and launch FFXIV only to get like four Japanese-language error messages that reference nvwgf2umx.dll, i’d appreciate it.
i know it’s a graphics card thing, because when i try to launch A Big Graphics Game like cyberpunk or overwatch something similar happens. but i can run Magic Arena, emulated games, and video processing stuff no problem, so what the fuck?
What graphics card do you have? My guess is it's not new enough to support those games and so it's throwing an error. If you aren't sure running dxdiag from the start menu should open a tool and clicking the various display tabs should show the graphics card under Device.
3080, i’m fairly confident that can run final fantasy xiv. seems like it might be a rare issue with i7-13700 line intel chips and msi’s shitty bios; i’ll keep you updated
it's a nvidia dll error, probably related to driver stuff. maybe you already did something like it, but updating your nvidia drivers may help. if it stills keep showing the same error, completely reinstalling the drivers may work.
definitely, “driver problem” is the most common response when i look this up. you’re not gonna believe this but i did a full drive wipe, OS/driver reinstall (using weird software to Fully remove original graphics drivers) AND ffxiv redownload. so, i’m thinking it’s gotta be Hardware.
