I know it’s a weekday but I’m on a semi-vacation and so happy whiskey Tuesday to all who celebrate

But here's a sign at Willett Distillery that I loved and took a picture of. So much more fun than "do not enter."

I dunno if any of you have ever had a plain glazed donut from North Lime in Lexington, KY, but they are perfect and incredibly delicious.

Also their logo is considerably too complex and also perfect

You're in a meeting with me today, this is what you get

They’re all sad songs, though

This happened to me a lot back when I was helping to run pools in high school and college. Back then we did our best to take it and be good about it because the customer is always right, etc etc. I think now that I’m 50 I would probably have words with the person—kind ones, still, but firm. “Nope.”

To reiterate: I don’t have favorites any more. Just lots and lots of things I love. But still: I love cooking Roberto soup because it’s so simple and the payoff is delicious. For guests, like to customize it based on what they prefer. There isn’t just one!

I hope I’ve got a little of Eugene’s spirit in me

Do you really think I’d tell you this, Doopelgänger Jeremy? Nice try.

In Bon Iver’s Holocene, when he says, “Jagged vacance, thick with ice,” my whole family still hears (and sings at the top of our lungs) “Chicken fingers stick with us.” Go listen. You’ll hear it, too.

I’m too old and have seen too many things to have favorites! I’ll just pick one: I love Princess Mononoke because while there is a protagonist and an antagonist, in the end they all turn out to be mostly good. Miyazaki blurs the lines between good and evil and it’s magnificent.
I always say there are only two kinds of music: good and bad. And I like the good kind. Seriously, I come from a musical family and I was a music minor and if it’s good, the genre doesn’t really matter to me at all.

Vanderbilt visit with the oldest, but why not stop at Willett on the way to pick up a couple of bottles of my very favorite whiskey at a very reasonable price

This isn’t half bad.

Daytime walking in Lexington. I’ll do a scavenger hunt tomorrow or the next day but figure a little live posting from this walk will give y’all a sense of this new landscape for this week.

I don’t fully understand what these are but I’m going to look them up when I get home. Presented in the order I saw them, so you can scratch your heads, too

I haven’t played disc golf in so long and now I want to play!

So what you’re saying is, you don’t want anyone to have any fun

You’re on the back deck with me, drinking coffee, prepping to DM another session of D&D with some of your best friends today, this is what you get

I’m pretty sure I’d get my younger self in *so much trouble.*
