So many great families in Deep Space 9, it's impossible for me to choose a favourite! The Ferengi family, the O'Briens, even Dukat and his daughter π! Excellent!
On the face of it I agree, but I like that she is half Cardassian and half Bajoran. She is both a reminder of the warcrimes committed on Bajor but also someone who yearns for conciliation of both worlds (Kira and Dukat). I also relate to her feeling of not fitting in anywhere.
More passion and life in her like Kira as an example. She just seemed to be a 1 note character.
All we really knew about her by the time she was written off she had a crush on Garak, she was nearly killed by Gul Dukat, she was part Bajoran and Cardasian and she liked art.
More focus on her, some stories less tied to Dukat and Garak specifically, more about that conflict between Bajor and Cardassia that she was a living embodiment of - there must have been a few Bajorans on the station that would have been wary of her?
