I was thinking the same: the actual substance is of course completely immaterial and what matters is only delivery and comportment. The American public I think for the most part is so misinformed about policy there is no point to even discuss it meaningfully. It's a reality show, american politics.
Actually of the American public had any idea of how policy affects them they'd have fed all their elected representatives through a wood chipper long ago.
