That’s a great read! I would point out that the circular connectors that make up that gnarly connector assembly are bog standard milspec connectors you can buy at Mouser, used widely in aviation. I use them when making Hammond organ chops because I have ~100 wires to connect. They’re not cheap!

Great piece, I enjoyed reading it. But now Russia has withdrawn their CTBT ratification, I imagine some people in the US will be willing to spend 100s of billions on the ability to conduct actual nuclear explosions 🙄
