Just make the person you're writing about a complete little freak. Every time you can make their reasoning and logic normal, instead make it bizarre. Make them the sort of person people want to study for science. Then, and only then, will I find them likable.

Alternatively, take a normal person with human reasoning and send them through stress and trauma until their logic is so broken we don't recognize them anymore and our relationship to them is sympathetic
