It’s so odd. When I signed up, there was a ton of engagement especially compared to how little I got compared to Twitter at the time.

I think it's the same problem as Threads. There was a rush. Then those people who rushed in either quit or only focused on the popular kids (figuring engaging them would rub off on their engagements). The current places with actual engagement for me are Tribel & Mastodon. Though both dropped a lot.

Mastadon was just frustrating for me with its different servers. I somehow joined the wrong one and didn’t feel like messing with it after that.

I get that. I made a mistake initially and started over, then realized I didn't have to. But the split domains is why I like it, because my domain admin blocks trolls and entire troll servers regularly. I almost never block anyone on there.
