I know it can't be the case (can it?), but the agenda of this crew feels an awful lot like a push to "re-create what we imagine SF was like during the peak of the first dotcom boom, despite all of us not having been here, or a part of it, or old enough to remember how awful it got". Thanks for this.

I was there during the first dotcom boom. I remember sitting at a cafe in the Castro, overhearing a tech bro say to his girlfriend “this place would be so much better without the freaks and the f*ggots!” I see they’re still at it.

The decimation of the art scene and its sense of playful creativity at the turn of the century was depressing to watch (and experience). Hoping that this new crop of Tan-istas don't wind up getting their way.
