This is ongoing. It's seldom mentioned in the media, but the last numbers show 2,438 deaths from COVID in the US in one week, Dec. 31-Jan. 6. Hundreds of people every day. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

FWIW, as far as I can tell, the CDC's site doesn't show the actual number of people dying from COVID each week. Seems like a very big omission. covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-t...
