I’ll admit, while aware of general targeting within the wider LGBTQ+ community, it didn’t really connect *HOW MUCH* fire was really being focused onto the trans community until late 2018 when one of my closest friends came out as trans

Yeah if you're not keyed into things it can be hard but when people have laid out the ways in which they're being targeted, with references and research, having people dismiss it out of hand is pretty galling.
