These people are all wrong. The correct answer is, of course, Hunstanton, which has three beaches in one: 1) Old-school (the original, in fact) pleasure beach with rides and stuff 2) Rock pools with the famous stripy cliffs 3) Wide, quiet beach with dunes in Old Hunstanton

Hunstanton is lovely, just wish I could reach it by public transport.

A victim of the Beeching line closures... It is possible to get there by public transport (from Cambridge/London), although not especially convenient - I've done it myself - take the train to King's Lynn, then get a bus from there. It's a nice bus ride up past Castle Rising and Sandringham.

A bus runs from kings lynn? I didn’t know- I’ve had a coach trip from Cambridge (organised by one of the kids nurseries) but hadn’t worked out a route to do it ourselves

Here you go - it's about 2 hours for train + bus:

Thank you- that’s great! Don’t know if the bus is new or I just missed it in the past but I’m very grateful

You're more than welcome! I don't think the bus is new - I took it back in 2010 so it, or at least one like it, has been around for some time (I suspect since the rail line closed)...
