one of the most important things to learn when you're young is "bosses and cops suck" so colleges are doing a pretty good job education-wise
Everyone that tries to exert any authority over anyone sucks. There can (sometimes) be slight mitigation for parents, and (more rarely) even teachers. But they all suck.

The problem with authority is that it tends to attract authoritarians
The underlying problem is that the entire idea of authority is absurd. And once you accept absurdity, you're primed for atrocities.

Wielding unearned authority is so much simpler and easier than earning respect.
Authority can be rationalized, but it can't be earned.

Best bit of information I ever learned in college was to never expect thanks for a job well done. Your thanks comes in your paycheck.

Which is why they must be destroyed apparently

Generally true. Though there are exceptions. One of the bosses I had would always go to bat for his employees. He was an excellent reference that helped land me my current job, and he helped me out outside work more than once. Dude's solid. Like cops, the decent ones are rare in a sea of assholes.
