Theres an important new study from many of the leading researchers on paleoclimate and climate sensitivity. They provide a new, more robust estimate of climate sensitivity from the last glacial maximum, suggesting a sensitivity of 2.9C (95% CI: 2.1 to 4.1C): www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Its noteworthy that this study is from many of the same researchers whose work on the last glacial maximum was used by Hansen et al 2023 for a much higher (4.8C) estimate thats well outside the range found in this new paper.

Its another important reminder that we should not read too much into a single paper; the most robust understanding of climate sensitivity comes from the synthesis of many different studies across different independent approaches as we did in Sherwood et al 2020 and the IPCC AR6.
