This is what my brain looks like right now. I’m starting to dream in it. Just trying to get to a workflow that can scale, add contractors & client approvals. So few do a unified inbox that include IG stories that have mentions. That likely will live outside the main system.

Different tools' cross-posting capabilities 🫠 That doesn't even show you my notes which can get into even more technical detail. They don't all tag people / accounts properly. Social inbox also instead a standard term so figuring that out is just a nightmare. Some lump it into social listening.

oh that does sound annoying. do you do SMM for companies? yeah there’s loads of platforms these days… from what I’ve seen, Buffer, Fedica and dlvr[.]it seem good.

Posting is the easier part. If someone tags you in an Instagram story though and you want to reply or share it's a different story. Instagram was being glitchy even and not telling me. I used to manage more of them pre-2020 and then event socials. Right now mostly the 2 businesses I'm involved in.

I realized I was getting annoying with my tests the other day and decided to set up separate testing accounts for the posting tests too: bsky.app/profile/test... I'll still be posting things here when it's like "yay this is in beta" and summaries on my main account though.

Also while I'm thinking about it - the social inbox portion of things has gotten even more complex since I'm really fighting meta to get proper notifications of things. The breakdown is something like this & a lot of them really don't cover the full set. Facebook's own business suite doesn't:

There are so many personal notes in my own spreadsheet that it's why it's never occurred to me. I also think some things aren't universally defined & that's part of why some of it is so insanely hard to figure out. A few companies throw the social inbox into a broader "engage" or "listening."

PLUS you get into things that have quirks. Like I can't for the life of me get one of them to connect to Instagram at all but I don't want to hold it against the company because ... Meta. I have seen just far too many people having account specific problems when it comes to Meta.

My chart is also seriously incomplete. I'll research until I hit where it's obviously not going to be something I can use & I just stop working on filling out the chart at that point. My notes section now has dated notes on why I stopped researching something in case there's a reason to revisit.

What if I sold it just as a spreadsheet people could fill in themselves? All the company info, links etc and then the stuff across the top and people can pick and choose what they want to cover? But not all of my notes. So many of them are moving so fast at upgrading bits.
