It really does seem like the coffee scene was basically the Matatron using the effect of Crowley's temptation against Crowley. But in the most mocking, disrespectful way possible.
I just realised that Crowley's "Go on" when he tells Aziraphale to try an oxrib is the same as the one he used when tempting Eve. The same tone of voice, the same allurment. He was consciously tempting the angel. And Aziraphale's face is the same face of pleasure as Eve's. He discovered pleasure.
things I gathered from 9 months of taking antidepressants (I repeat, personal experience):
- don't trust yourself when you think you can /handle/ things without them, if your therapist suggests to you to see a psychiatrist, go for a screening
