Mine spread seeds and never come back the same way twice, it seems. I am geneticist but foxglove freckles are beyond my research area hahah

Our foxglove just came in but this is not the big bloom and will be huge next spring. Yes they are biannual.

Ok cool! But I’m still wondering if the cove flooding hit them. It certainly hit other plants and tulips. It’s brackish water but enough salt to kill. I’ll 🤞 until next year.

Did you have enough rain to flush the salt from the soil afterward? You can do that. Maybe check the pH? It is cheap and fun - maybe you already do that? As a scientist, my garden is kinda messy but has its own chemistry kit

It’s weird because other plants survived. I had 20 tulips and only about 5 this year. The irises are fine.

I think here anyway, tulips rot easily. Irises, never.

They do poop out but these were 2 years old. Far too soon to crap out. I’ve got some that survived the move and are about 15 years old.

Also we had a ton of rain! Too much rain but I’m thinking it might have flushed the soil.

Toby has the correct term as biennial. Debbie is wrong, second time.

Funny story- a kid was sleeping over w/ my daughter and told me I spelled school wrong. She was 12 and adamant. I bet her whomever was right had to make breakfast. My daughter pleaded with her- “my mom writes FOR A LIVING- you are in 6th grade.”
