A large twitch at Girdle Ness this afternoon for the pod of c10 Orcas that lingered for a few hours this afternoon. 2 large bulls and a small calf with them. Only my 2nd Bonxie of the year, plus Manx Shearwater and Black Guillemot #mammals #birdingscotland

Jaw-dropping views of at least 15 Egyptian Nightjars in daylight in central Qatar yesterday. One of my bucket list #birds ✅, never imagined we would see them so well. Several appeared to be moulting their inner primaries.

Sandgrouse are surprisingly rare in Qatar -there was a Spotted last month- (first Qatar record) and there are small no’s of Pin-tailed, so I was really pleased to get 2 Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse yesterday albeit distantly - a world ✅ #birds
