What am I feeling?
We call it 'on shore flow' here in the Pacific Northwest...
Life is revived anew! Whew!
I can think again... and I heard one weather forecaster even talk about atmospheric rivers again.
Whew!
Garden design is an art... and a fun one.
And it's good exercise too!
Monet would have loved it. He always showed his visitors his garden before he showed off his paintings.
After the 'hardscaping' is done... the 'landscaping' can begin.

I’m John Nez - author & illustrator - currently self repped - I write and illustrate all sorts of books.

I’m quick, friendly and efficient with bookmaking skills - real & digital & mixed.
For years I painted with an acrylics...
I started with watercolors... then when I discovered acrylics, I luved it. I liked how opaque colors could change things.
Then I sort of just switched to photoshop + textures for all the amazing effects.
Then back to watercolor + Photoshop ... #kidlitart
My old 'school visits' site. But usually I'm too busy racing deadlines... which is also fun.
I read that for Maurice Sendak, happiness was sitting at his drawing desk and listening to classical music.
That's what I'm doing... recovering. #kidlitart
Admiring cats is more interesting and rewarding than last night’s debate. Cats don’t know how to lie… unlike the 32 felon convicted candidate, who is a highly gifted liar.
But even if he was carried out on coffin rails, I’m ridin’ with Biden. They say he has a cat, but I’ve never seen it… sigh.
These are my favorite pens... there's nothing quite like running a Pentel Ink Brush on Watercolor paper.
The Pentel is at the bottom of this collection, and it's capped closed, so you can't see the brush end.

This was a fun series, to compare the dummy book pages to the final printed out book pages.
Adding color made a lot of difference... but still I like the loose line version a lot.

I remember the 'good old days' where the artist required an exacto knife and exacting skills to make an image.
And there were lots of expensive trips to the print shop, where often things went wrong.
There was lots of cut & paste... but now it's all digital, luckily.

A funny way to meet the neighbors - illustrated by me. A runaway house cat is a rollercoaster of despair and hope. The weather forecast is for 4 days of cold rain. And the fun begins… along with meeting all the neighbors who used to be strangers. #KidLitPit#pb

I still remember the delight I experienced in making this cover. It was some of my first Photoshop art ever... and I was so happy with the magic it allowed.
Trying to do it the old fashioned way with watercolors was a thing of the past... #kidlitart#photoshop

Here's the sketch vs the finish... from the pages of my book 'Cromwell Dixon's Sky-Cycle'. A historical non-fiction telling the true story about a boy who built his own flying bicycle in 1907. #kidlit#kidlitart
I've been digging though my forgotten computer files, and it turns out I have more and more books that I've forgotten about. Probably about 5 at least... books that I wrote, illustrated and then sent to only 3 places.
Then I give up and start another project. I need to polish those up!
