Deep in a verrry long, tedious editing slog. Hours done. Hours to go.
And I wonder: who cares? Very few will read my book, and fewer will care.
Then I remembered I read it and I care.
I'm doing this for me and my peace of mind.

Every once in a while, I pop open LinkedIn job announcements related to my past career. It's kind of sad how much my industry has passed me by. It was inevitable, and it happens to all of us, but time sucks.

One of my favorite words: termagant.
1. (archaic) Having the temperament of a termagant; bad-tempered, brawling, boisterous, turbulent.
2. (modern) Me.
Need to get this in one of my books.

Word counts are valid indicators of progress because we feel accomplishment in a trade where "success" is a wispy ghost on the wind. We see it, but grabbing it is a whole different thing.
Some stories are hard to write. This one is flying out of me and that feels good.
