I am pleased to announce that my wife and I will be doing a panel at PAX West this year! The exact theater and time may change, but we’ll be doing a talk on the economics of Animal Crossing and how it compares to the real-world housing market.
Due to various complications, Sarah and I put off our Valentine’s Day dinner until the weekend. We made our traditional surf & turf, and not to toot my own horn but I’m very proud with how the steaks turned out this time.
Last week, I got a text from my wife about a dog she saw in a Facebook group. She was one of several dogs on the euthanasia list, and the adoption agency needed new fosters to sign up.
Long story short, everyone meet Rosie.
I’m sure someone out there was enjoying their morning cup of coffee and thinking “Gee, I wish this tasted more like an Eggo waffle”. I’m just not sure we should have indulged this person instead of getting them professional help.
I realize I’m being completely ridiculous by being a Proud Dog Parent™ over this, but our dog park just announced the release of their Christmas photos on Facebook and they chose one with Apollo to be the face of it.
Did we throw our dog a birthday party at our dog park/daycare? Yes. Yes we did. As a bonus, they’re selling special dog-friendly Thanksgiving meals that doubled as a birthday feast.
That the end credits song for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is mainstream enough that I can hear it out in public is a little jarring to begin with. But I just heard a Muzak version, and let me tell you that was a trip.
We took Apollo on our long weekend road trip. It was his first time in the car for more than a roughly half-hour drive, so we were a little worried with how he’d handle it. Little boy takes to the road like a champ, thankfully.
We took Apollo to the Halloween event at the dog park last Saturday and just got his pictures back. I have to say, I’m a big fan of this “hire a professional photographer for events and do free photos for members” trend they seem to be starting.
I absolutely love bringing Apollo to baseball games. When they announced the first playoff game would be Bark in the Park, I knew we had to bring him to one more this season!
So was the idea for Taco Bell sunflower seeds the result of someone just throwing darts at the big product crossover board, or did someone actually ask for this?
Is there a term for the disappointment of finding someone here that you originally followed on Twitter, only to find that they made an account but don’t actually use the platform? I’m sure this is a common enough experience. We should make a word for it.
Apollo had a long day at daycare today- Sarah and I had an immediate post-work event, so he was there basically as long as we were able to book him. He was in great hands, but he’s definitely tired now!
