As some of you saw over in the Bad Place, I had to say goodbye to Carla. She was declining fast and we made the hard decision to let her go. She was a great cat and one of the best little friends I ever had.
To anyone doing this for the first time: Give yourself* time to recover.
I was a complete mess for at least three full days after we unexpectedly lost Tas. Would just sit and stare at the wall, bathed in melancholy.
Be willing to grant yourself grace and forgiveness.
