Maybe? I've been online since 28.8k modems, I really can't recall seing it in use with Irish netizens among many Americanisms. Weirdly I live in an Irish-speaking area with a lot of Boston connections, and I hear people use "high school", "sidewalk" etc in English but never heard "touch grass". 1
