The chorus of Western commentators who say constantly that Moscow is internationally isolated is somewhat undermined by Putin's good relationships and face-to-face meetings with two national leaders who represent a combined 2.8+ billion people.
OK, so not isolated. But the good relationships seem predicated upon a weak Russia selling them cheap energy rather than an alliance of equals in an anti-West project.
