Reminder to all our lovely new ARMY friends, this place is different than 🐦 and you don't need to be as defensive here. No algorithm means you only see what you want once you get your feeds and moderation set up.
Practice kindness and assuming best intentions and you'll do much better here.
I've been pushing for that attitude on the bird app but it's so much noise and anger that I understand that it's harder to just ignore. I think this fresh start will make it easier to do a block on sight approach. We can protect our ARMY bubble easier from trolls/antis
💯 Bird app is specifically designed to push the absolute worst takes to the top of your feed. Here those takes are seen, snorted at, and blocked. The block makes it disappear from the thread and then it's crickets for any bad faith actor.
That's exactly what we need. And inevitably the word will get out more and more. Hopefully the stream of new people will be gradual enough for us all to properly vet newbies. Just to ensure the rot doesn't spread over here. Esp the trolls wanting to ruin a good thing.
