Qrp with your loading screen art tip! Drawing a quick gesture sketch for a pose is more effective than focusing on anatomy from the get go. Results will be more dynamic and natural.

In regards to color and lighting, while it is very important to study from life and such, sometimes going with your gut and bullshitting the rules creates more impactful and bolder choices. And sometimes realistic lighting can be counterintuitive to a composition.
