I really love doing readings, they're honestly the ideal public appearance for an introvert and/or certain flavors of neurodivergent, of which dare I say most writers are one or both of those, there's a literal script! Performance is much easier (for me) than doing charm publicly
I love hearing authors read their own work. Author readings are the lifeblood of book culture -- i miss bookstore readings and spoken word events. So in my latest newsletter I offer some tips to help authors do a better job with reading out loud 📚🎤🤩

I feel like "in conversation" is the cousin of "pivot to video". Some writers are really good at doing the engaging conversation thing and I've had good times at their events! Some do good tik toks etc and I love them! But both form are easier for, and better received from, certain types of people
So what I'm saying is I'm always happy to do any kind of public event or podcast recording or con panel etc but would love to do more of all of the above that involves more reading and less conversating lol
