Seriously though. If you're looking at a rescue and half their dogs are purebred shiba inus "saved from an Asian dog meat market" you need to look really hard into them before adopting or donating. Either they're ignorant and racist enough to get scammed or they're hoping you are
Remember, folks: no one is breeding purebred French bulldogs, borzoi, or golden retrievers for meat in “exotic” countries. People who try to tell you that this is a widespread practice are BSing you for marketing purposes. Sorry.

Ditto if the rescue is mostly puppies and young adult dogs ‘saved from puppy mills’. Puppy mills can make money selling to rescues, and it is often more than they make selling to pet stores or owners.
